The Young & The Restless's Beau Kazer (Kayzer), who played Brock Reynolds on the long-running soap, has passed away. Reps from the show — which has been on air since 1973 — confirmed that he passed away aged 63 on Dec. 30 in California. As The Wrap report, a The Young & the Restless show representative released a statement saying: "It is with great sadness to share the news that Beau Kazer passed away on December 30th in Thousand Oaks, California.
"He is survived by his wife, Sharon Alkus," it went on, "who wanted everyone to know Y&R was a large part of his life that he was very proud of."
People Magazine report that Kazer got his break in TV in "1974 by originating the role of Brock, the adult son of Katherine (the late Jeanne Cooper) on the daytime drama."
He left Y&R in 1980, say People, but "appeared on and off from 1984 to 2013, when he returned to Genoa City to attend Katherine's funeral. Brock fondly referred to his mother as 'the duchess'."
He also played 'Soap Opera Man' in Martin Scorsese's Taxi Driver, and appeared in General Hospital and Hart To Hart.
