Could Daniel Bryan Face Brock Lesnar for WWE World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 31?

Ever since Daniel Bryan announced on Monday Night Raw two weeks ago that he would be in the Royal Rumble match later this month, WWE fans have been salivating at the prospect of his winning the 30-man match and competing in the main event of WrestleMania 31. But how likely is a match between Bryan and Brock Lesnar for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship?

An old interview Bryan gave prior to SummerSlam has suddenly been making the rounds on the Internet again in the wake of Bryan's return to WWE. In the interview, he tells James Delow that, at the time, his injury was stopping him from having one of his dream matches.

"One of the things that kills me about this is if I were champion right now I'd be wrestling Brock Lesnar and that's the match I've always really wanted. I feel like we could do something completely different that people [wouldn't] have seen before in the United States. That's the match I really, really want."

By all accounts, Bryan was supposed to be in John Cena's shoes and face Lesnar at SummerSlam. Presumably, Lesnar would have torn him to shreds, just as he did to Cena.

The possibility still exists for a Bryan vs. Lesnar match at WrestleMania 31, as the Beast Incarnate is still the champion and Bryan is in the Rumble match. But we'll have to wait and see.
