One Direction and Blink 182: Did Punkers Bash Boy Band Phenomenon Over a Decade Ago? [VIDEOS]

Blink 182's "All the Small Things" hit 1999 music video is back in the 2012 limelight, but it has nothing to do with "back in the day" teeny-boppers NSYNC, Backstreet Boys, or 98 Degrees. Instead, the joke seems to be on British pop boy band "One Direction," whose popular music video for the hit 2011 tune "What Makes You Beautiful" features some scenes eerily similar to the boy band-bashing "All the Small Things" vid.

Over a decade ago, American pop-punk rockers and pranksters Blink 182 (Mark Hoppus, Tom DeLonge, and Travis Barker) debuted their music video for "All the Small Things" - which hilariously poked fun at all the current boy band clichés in pop culture - that soon became an instant MTV hit (the track has since been labeled as the band's "signature song").

From the rocky cliff-beach background to frolicking in the sand with girls and fellow band mates, One Direction's 2011 video for "What Makes you Beautiful" almost mimics exactly what Blink 182 was attempting to make fun of back in 1999. Check out both videos below and decide for yourself.
