Just ahead of its mid-season premiere, teasing info has just been released about The Flash on the CW network. With the identity of the scarlet speedster's arch-nemesis revealed, will Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) and Dr. Harrison Wells (Tom Cavanagh) "get broken along the way" to the Reverse-Flash?

In our first recap, Barry (Gustin) was just a little boy when he witnessed the death of his mother. In his eyewitness account, Barry described a man in a yellow suit inside the bolt of lightning. While Henry Allen (John Wesley Shipp) was framed for his wife's murder, Barry joined the police force to find the real person who actually committed the crime.

In the mid-season finale, the Reverse-Flash and the Flash were in a race across Central city, which the scarlet speedster lost. Though the Reverse-Flash was caught in a force field, it didn't stop him from pulverizing Wells (Cavanagh). If it wasn't for Firestorm (Robbie Amell), Barry would've gotten a worse beatdown. At the end of the episode, we saw Wells staring at the Reverse-Flash suit in his secret lair.

During the Television Critics Association Winter Press Tour in Pasadena, The Flash was given an early renewal for second season. The Ed actor also confirmed that he is indeed the Reverse-Flash and that was him viewers saw in costume.

In an interview with Comic Book Resources, Cavanagh explains the complexity behind the super-villain, "You want Barry to succeed, then you can't just paint Reverse-Flash as bad, because Harrison and Reverse-Flash are responsible for helping Barry achieve his potential. And the reason that happens is, that helps Reverse-Flash achieve his potential. Eggs get broken along the way, certainly that's bad, but at the same time, there's complications to it."

Cavanagh continues, "How do you sustain the Harrison Wells persona as the Reverse-Flash persona gets unveiled further? I think that's interesting. Does he just disappear? Well, no, he doesn't -- why doesn't he? That's all tied in, organically so."

First things first though, Barry will have to take on Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller) and Heat Wave (Dominic Purcell) in Revenge of the Rogues. Check out the trailer here:
