Mariah Carey Vegas Residency Dates- Britney Spears Watch Out! Former 'American Idol' Judge Announces Tour Dates For 'Number 1's'
This must be a sweet, sweet fantasy because it has just been revealed that Mariah Carey is making her Las Vegas residency debut. The former American Idol judge is coming for that Las Vegas residency crown, as she has just announced today the first set of tour dates for her Sin City shows at Caesar's Palace. While other divas including Celine Dion, Shania Twain, and Britney Spears have all gone down the residency route, this is Mariah's first time doing one of these types of shows.
According to E! News, the singer will be making her first appearance on May 6 and the 18-day tour will be spread out between May and July. The following are the first batch of dates that have been announced, with tickets already being available for purchase.
May: 6, 9, 10, 13, 16, 17, 20, 23, 24 & July: 8, 11, 12, 15, 18, 19, 22, 25, 26.
Carey also appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show where she unveiled the news to all her fans.
"I'm going to do my first ever residency in Vegas at Caesar's. This is a special event for me," the star told Ellen. "Again, I have to hope that the fans will enjoy this cause I'm gonna be performing, which was kind of inspired by my album Number 1's, and this is now the updated version with 18 of them. Hopefully other people enjoy this. I've never done this before."
And we are sure that all the Mariah fans out there are going to love the set list, which includes hit songs like "We Belong Together," "Visions of Love," "Emotions," "Fantasy," and our personal favorite, "Dreamlover." However, the star is also including some newbies into the mix, including "Don't Forget About Us," and "Touch My Body."
John Nelson, the Sr. VP of AEG Live also spoke to the news site about bringing the singer to the venue, saying, "As a consummate songwriter, producer and internationally-renowned performer with a remarkable string of number one hits, Mariah brings a unique presence to Las Vegas that speaks to so many fans across the globe."
