Monday Night Raw Results 1/19/15: WWE Raw Recap January 19, 2015: Royal Rumble Go-Home Show Featuring Sting's Return, Brock Lesnar, John Cena, Seth Rollins, Hulk Hogan, and More
The January 19, 2015 edition of WWE's Monday Night Raw emanates live from the American Airlines Center in Dallas and begins with the WWE World Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar and his advocate, Paul Heyman.
Heyman starts to talk but Lesnar immediately grabs the mic and says he's here to fight. He calls out Seth Rollins. The Authority's music hits and Triple H heads toward the ring. He says he gets why he's angry, but he attacked Rollins first. He offers to talk things over with Heyman while Lesnar eats steak. Lesnar asks if he's here to fix this or if he's here to fight. Heyman screams at him to back down.
Stephanie McMahon, Kane, and Big Show hit the ring and tell them to cool off. Rollins appears on the TitanTron and says Lesnar is always two steps behind. He tells him to wait for Sunday at the Royal Rumble to fight. Heyman dismisses him and begs The Authority to put a leash on Rollins before Brock fixes this himself.
John Cena's music hits and he comes out in new blue clothes. Cena says this contract is signed and they have already fought, but Sunday they will settle the score. He says The Authority comes out every week and tries to break him, but he tells them to give it up because all it does is light a fire in him.
Cena then turns to Dolph Ziggler, Erick Rowan, and Ryback and says he would do anything to bring them back. He calls Triple H and Stephanie "ash-holes" (it's a fire metaphor) and tries to leave but Steph calls him back. She says this a turning point in his career because he used to overcome all the odds, but today he is a liar because he brought back The Authority and got those three guys fired. She says nobody wants to see him win Sunday because he is not the man he used to be.
Rollins calls him a failure and a loser. He failed to bring back his friends last week and he'll fail on Sunday. Cena says it's not about any of that, it's about beating the two men on Sunday and earning respect. He says when he wins Sunday, The Authority should bring the three fired men back.
Triple H polls the crowd and admits they are interested, but says Cena already blew his chance. But he's inclined to give him another chance if he puts something on the line. Tonight, Cena will have a match and if he wins, all three men come back but if he loses, then they stay fired and he forfeits his title shot on Sunday. But Triple H doesn't let him decide, as he wants the WWE Universe to vote on it.
Daniel Bryan faces Bray Wyatt and Kane comes out early into the match. Wyatt wins with Sister Abigail after a distraction from Kane. After the match, Kane chokeslams Bryan and assaults him.
Triple H is backstage when Scott Hall and Kevin Nash walk into the room. Hall makes fun of Hunter's suit and the two try to get him to hang with them tonight. Shawn Michaels comes in and says he should join them on the Legends Panel later tonight. He tries to get him to bring Cena's friends back, and the friends all start ribbing on each other. Damien Mizdow comes in dressed as X-Pac, but then the man himself comes in and Mizdow starts mimicking him. X-Pac tries to hire him but Miz comes in and stops him.
Byron Saxton introduces the Legends Panel: Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair, and Shawn Michaels. Byron asks if Cena should fight for his friends' jobs. HBK says yes, Flair says no, and Hogan says yes.
Flair then talks about his 1992 Royal Rumble win, Shawn talks about his wins in 1995 and 1996, and Hogan talks about his two Rumble wins. Byron then asks who they are picking to win. HBK selects the unconventional choice of Bray Wyatt, but Hogan disagrees. The two jokingly bring up their SummerSlam 2005 match. Hulk Hogan picks Daniel Bryan to win. Ric Flair picks Dean Ambrose.
Big Show's music hits and he hits the ring. He says none of the three picked him because they are all jealous of him. He mentions his accomplishments over Hogan and Flair. He calls them washed-up has-beens begging for attention. Flair gets ready to fight and chops Show, but Show knocks him out.
Roman Reigns' music hits and he walks straight up to Big Show. He starts throwing right hands and knocks Show out of the ring over the top rope.
Renee Young asks John Cena about the fan vote, which is 85% yes to 15% no. Cena says it is not a sign that the fans don't want him to have the title shot because some of them believe that he can win tonight and move onto Sunday. Cena says he wants to fight tonight because these are the moments that make a champion.
Dean Ambrose defeats Intercontinental Champion Bad News Barrett with Dirty Deeds.
The New Day (Kofi Kingston and Big E w/Xavier Woods) defeat Cesaro and Tyson Kidd (w/Adam Rose and Natalya).
The nWo (Kevin Nash, Scott Hall, and X-Pac) hit the ring. Nash does a little history lesson and jokingly says the nWo is responsible for everything great that has ever happened. The Ascension's music hits and they hit the ring. They say no tag team from the past or present is better than them, especially not a team from WCW.
Hall throws his toothpick and a fight nearly breaks out, but JBL leaves the announce table and yells at the Ascension for having the audacity to say they are better than these legends. He said he had a feeling this might happen, so he called an old friend for help. He rips off his shirt to reveal an APA Protection shirt, and Ron Simmons aka Farooq comes out! The New Age Outlaws then come out and, after some quips from Road Dogg, attack The Ascension. JBL hits the Clothesline from Hell and all the veterans celebrate.
Triple H and Stephanie McMahon announce, accompanied by drumroll, that John Cena will face Seth Rollins, Big Show, and Kane tonight with the two Authority members at ringside.
Paige and Natalya defeat Alicia Fox and Summer Rae when Paige gets Alicia to tap out to the PTO. Brie Bella and Nikki Bella were at the announce table during the match, and we learn that the twins will face Paige and Natalya at the Royal Rumble in a tag team match this Sunday.
Rusev squashes R-Truth with the Accolade.
Seth Rollins is backstage with J&J Security and walks into Brock Lesnar, who says he wants Rollins to take out Cena tonight and then he'll take Rollins out on Sunday.
Jey Uso (w/Jimmy Uso) defeats The Miz (w/Damien Mizdow).
The main event is more or less a 7-on-1 assault on Cena. Rollins is about to take him out with the Curb Stomp when Sting appears on the TitanTron! He heads to the stage, and the distraction allows Cena to roll up Rollins for the win. Cena celebrates in the crowd as Triple H loses his mind at ringside. He grabs a microphone and screams that Sting doesn't belong here.
Sting doesn't come back, but Brock Lesnar comes out with Heyman and takes down Rollins. Kane and Show try to stop him, but Kane and Big Show both eat F5s. Rollins escapes up the ramp and Lesnar stands tall in the ring as the show goes off the air.
