Psy Gangnam Style Breaks 200 Million Youtube Video Views, It's Only The Beginning
Psy's Gangnam Style sets another record by breaking 200 million Youtube video views on Monday, September 17, 2012. The rapper reached 100 million views on Sept. 4th, and in just 13 days he increased by another 100 million. With his recent BEST VIDEO nomination at the MTV European Music Awards, Psy is only going to see another surge of new fans. He is running up against the biggest names in pop music including Rihanna, Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, and M.I.A.
Every minute, there is someone watching the video online and viewers from other countries are leaving their marks on the comment section. There are currently over 900,000 comments for the video. He sincerely thanked his fans on Twitter.
One fan estimated, "3.5% of the whole world knows this song."
"This will be bigger than Call Me Maybe!" another fan gushed.
Carly Rae Jepsen's music video for "Call Me Maybe" currently has 257 million views and was uploaded in March. It looks like Psy will quickly catch upto that number in less than one week!
The rapper told NBC's "Today Show" that he never expected to see Gangnam Style or himself as an artist reach such amazing heights.
The past two months have been full of new experiences for Psy. He became the first Asian solo artist to reach No. 1 on the iTunes chart. He attended his first MTV VMA 2012 show. He appeared on Ellen DeGeneres, Ryan Seacrest, NBC's Today Show and Saturday Night Live. This is only the beginning for the fresh faced Psy.
