WWE taped the January 22, 2015 edition of SmackDown in Austin, Texas on Tuesday night, and the episode served as the go-home show for the Royal Rumble on Sunday.

The show begins with Daniel Bryan, who brings back Dolph Ziggler, Ryback, and Erick Rowan, who got their jobs back after John Cena defeated Seth Rollins on Monday Night Raw. The Authority interrupts to book all three men in matches with the same stipulation that Bryan has later in the night. They must win to get into the Royal Rumble match.

Ziggler defeats Intercontinental Champion Bad News Barrett in a non-title match to secure a spot in the 30-man match.

Ryback defeats Rusev by count out to enter the Royal Rumble. Rusev tries to attack Ryback after the match but Da Big Guy fights him off.

Brie Bella defeats Naomi in a short match.

Luke Harper defeats his former partner, Erick Rowan, after Big Red misses a splash. So Rowan is out of the Rumble.

The Miz and Damien Mizdow do a backstage segment in which Miz mocks Mizdow for his work with X-Pac on Raw. The two men announce they will enter the Rumble match.

Daniel Bryan defeats Kane in a no disqualification match to secure his spot in the Rumble. There was a ton of interference but Bryan emerged victorious. As is tradition with the go-home show, the locker room empties and everyone brawls in the ring as the show goes off the air.
