'Powers' Spoilers: Will Sharlto Copley, Susan Heyward's PlayStation Series Arrive In March? [WATCH]
Ever since New York Comic Con, audiences have been quite anxious to see PlayStation Network's first superhero/drama series, Powers. Based on the comic book by Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Avon Oeming, will Deena Pilgrim (Susan Heyward), Christian Walker (Sharlto Copley) solve Retro Girl's murder in March?
As we previously mentioned, Powers is set in an alternate world where superpowers have become part of everyday life. At the "Powers" Division of the Chicago Police Department, Detective Christian Walker (Copley) has been assigned to his new feisty partner Deena Pilgrim (Heyward). The first story arc, "Who Killed Retro Girl?" follows the lead detectives as they investigate the murder of a popular super heroine (played by Michelle Forbes).
We mentioned before, the Hannibal actor, Eddie Izzard, plays the role ''Big Bad'' Wolfe, who has been repeatedly lobotomized in order to keep his regenerative powers at bay. The Game of Thrones actor, Noah Taylor, will play criminal mastermind Johnny Royalle. Though she is just a little girl in the comics, actress Olesya Rulin plays an older version of Calista in the live-action adaptation.
According to Deadline, the first three episodes of the 10-episode first season will be made available March 10. Then there will be a new episode every Tuesday. The first episode of Powers will be available for free at their official site. The full season will be free to members of PlayStation Plus.
The official Powers Facebook account released a new official still, with the caption, "Thanks for your patience everyone. We're thrilled to announce that #PowersonPS premieres March 10th!!! "
Bendis also wrote on the PlayStation blog, "'I'm happy to report that production has wrapped on all 10 episodes of POWERS. Under the skillful hands of our showrunners Charlie Huston and Remi Aubuchon, our amazing directors, writers, cast and crew, the episodes are coming together beautifully."
