If season 3 of Banshee has taught us anything so far, it's that Lucas Hood cannot catch a break. In this week's new episode, "A Fixer of Sorts," we learn that while Kai Proctor and Chayton are waging war against each other, Hood has his hands full with robbing Stowe but has a run in with both the FBI and the mob! 2015 has already been an excited year for the Cinemax series. Check out our episode recap of episode 3, "A Fixer of Sorts" right here! (SPOILERS to Follow)

Picking up right where we left off, with Deva walking out of Hood's apartment and Lucas running into a gun to his face - we find out who's behind the gun at his door. We meet the new character FBI Special Agent Robert Phillips (Denis O'Hare of HBO's True Blood) who seems to know everything about Hood's true identity. He arrests Hood.

In Proctor's mansion, his mother's hospice care is going as well as you'd imagine, but she makes Kai promise her he'll move Rebecca, her granddaughter (remember?), out when she dies. He doesn't seem too happy about giving up the incest, but we'll see what happens when his mother dies. Also, Lotus' ex-wife is getting mighty close to Kai. This is another relationship we'll probably see develop into something more.

Not wasting too much time to hit us with some action, Burton gets tomahawked by Nola! Fans might be surprised to see the creepy man-servant in such a vulnerable position, but as soon as Nola starts her threats, we see the scary Burton jump back to life. In one of the most original fight scenes, the two most brutal characters on the show beat the hell out of each other through a luxury car!

The trunk of said car has some sort of weird arsenal for Burton's disposal, which he brings into good use to cut up Nola. With both seeming to get the upper hand, we see flashbacks of each character dealing with tremendous situations. These scenes are their respective motivation to not die. Unfortunately, Burton manages to rip out Nola's throat (!), thus adding another reason for vengeance from Chayton. She put up a great fight though!

Plus, Lotus' ex-wife plays nurse to the very injured Burton, making us feel like her role will become much more criminal down the line.

After catching up with Job and Sugar bickering with each other on a special job for the big vault robbery, we learn that Phillips tracked down Hood after investigating the disappearance and death of season 2's best character, Agent Jim Racine (Zeljko Ivanek). It turns out that Racine definitely knew everything about Hood's true identity, and now Phillips has caught him. Unfortunately, Lucas gets free but is then immediately apprehended by a mysterious new character.

Waking up some time later, Lucas is having flashbacks to his interrogation years ago and images of Deva. He finds himself, along with Phillips, in the presence of mob kingpin Raymond Brantley (Shuler Hensley in a fat suit). He's the same man that the real Lucas Hood's son, Jason, took money from, but Brantley knows our Hood is a fake. He's looking for Jason and even though he's dead, Brantley is now on Lucas' case. They even incorporate some electrified gloves to get Lucas to talk. This makes him flash to thoughts of Siobhan.

Meanwhile ...

This leads to some unfortunate decision making from Tommy Littlestone. Armed to the teeth, a small group of Red Bones shoots up Proctor's strip joint. Deputy Lotus is there, though, and he saves the day, with help from some backup. Tommy dies, by the way.

After Lucas tells Brantley that he has the money that Jason stole, Phillips is lead into the woods to be killed by the two henchmen. After getting free for a short chase, he's told to dig his own grave.

Hood has a conversation with Brantley, getting into his head a bit. Lucas kills the kingpin, thus ending that storyline kind of quickly, wouldn't you say? After a shootout with the driver, Hood goes back and saves Phillips. We learn that the FBI actually isn't after Hood and they don't know about him.

So some of the coolest characters were introduced and then killed in one episode, but at least Phillips is still alive! Unfortunately, to "cover his ass," he sent his file to the Sherriff's Department and Deputy Kelly read it all. Hence the main article image above.
