Sean Paul Denies Affair With Beyonce: In Midst Of His Fifth Album Drop
Sean Paul denies rumors about an affair with Beyonce. In 2003, the two collaborated on their hit single "Baby Boy," which stayed number 1 for 29 weeks. Even though, the single was a super smash, Paul, failed to perform at the MTV VMAs that year with Beyonce. Many speculated that Jay-Z blocked the dancehall artist anywhere near his future wife. Sean Paul told sources, "It was not a big deal to me, but it really blew up into crazy stuff." He then added, "That's a rumor that started. I've known Jay-Z from before I knew her," he added.
As he denies the rumors, Paul remembered when he met up with Jay-Z (who was with Roc-A-Fella then) for advice on radio politics and business publicity. Paul said, "The general public blew it up in certain things. I just remained quiet about it for years because it was doing its work. There was just a lot of controversy." He also added, "She's an amazing artist, the song was at number1 for like nine weeks, so that was a very special time for me and for dancehall."
I you're wondering why Paul would now clear up the "affair" rumors, it may be due to promote his 5th album that is to drop called, "Tomahawk Technique," and a North American tour he's launching soon. His publicity meeting with Jay-Z really paid off.
