Monday Night Raw Preview 1/26/15: Royal Rumble Fallout Featuring Roman Reigns, Brock Lesnar
The January 26, 2015 edition of WWE's Monday Night Raw will emanate live from the XL Center in Hartford, Connecticut and will feature all the fallout from the Royal Rumble pay-per-view on Sunday.
Roman Reigns won the Royal Rumble last night to a chorus of boos from the WWE fans in attendance at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia and a slew of angry responses from fans around the world. Mainstream media has even picked up on the "#cancelwwenetwork" trend on Twitter last night.
The bad blood began when Daniel Bryan was unceremoniously dumped out of the match in the early going and continued when fellow fan favorite Dean Ambrose and Dolph Ziggler hit the floor, as well. Not even The Rock could help stop the boos that rained down upon Roman's head at the end of the show.
What will the new No. 1 Contender to the WWE World Heavyweight Championship have to say about the reaction tonight?
And speaking of the championship, Brock Lesnar retained the title in spectacular fashion last night in a Triple Threat Match with John Cena and Seth Rollins. The champ will be in attendance tonight to address the events of Sunday night, but what will he have to say?
As always, check back with MStars immediately after the show for a full recap of all the action. But for now, let us know your thoughts, guesses, opinions, and predictions for tonight's show in the comments section.
The 2015 edition of WWE's Royal Rumble emanates live from the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, and begins with a pre-show math between The New Day and Tyson Kidd and Cesaro.
Kidd and Cesaro defeat Kofi Kingston and Big E after a great match in which the crowd ate the New Day alive and cheered wildly for Cesaro.
The main show begins with The Ascension vs. The New Age Outlaws. The younger team earns the win with the Fall of Man.
Triple H and Stephanie McMahon are backstage talking about Sting's interference on Monday Night Raw. Triple H says he will destroy Sting if he ever shows his ace again. Paul Heyman enters the picture and says the solution to the Sting problem is Brock Lesnar.
The Usos retain their WWE Tag Team Championships against The Miz and Damien Mizdow when Jimmy Uso splashes Miz for the pin.
Nikki Bella and Brie Bella defeat Paige and Natalya after Nattie tries to make a tag, but Brie pulls Paige off the apron. Nikki smashes Nattie with a forearm for the win.
Brock Lesnar retains his WWE World Heavyweight Championship against John Cena and Seth Rollins after what can only be described as a nearly flawless Triple Threat match. The crowd was hot and vocal for this entire contest. Lesnar ate four Attitiude Adjustments (including three in a row at one point) and a Curb Stomp, got speared through the barricade and got smashed through the Spanish announce table. Rollins eventually hits him with a Phoenix Splash and attempts a Curb Stomp on the briefcase, but Lesnar recovers and F5s him for the win.
The Royal Rumble match begins, and Roman Reigns wins it. He is left in the ring with Big Show and Kane but manages to eliminate them both. As he celebrates, the two giants reenter the ring and assault him. The Rock's music then hits and he rushes the ring to save Roman. He hits Show with a Rock Bottom and Kane with a People's Elbow. Rusev, who was down outside the ring and not eliminated, then comes back in, but Reigns throws him over the rope to win the Rumble.
The crowd absolutely hated this match, especially after Daniel Bryan came in as the 10th entrant but was the 11th man eliminated. Bray Wyatt took him out, which completely deflated the crowd. That sadness turned to anger as the crowd revolted with numerous chants and boos, even when The Rock was in the ring.
