Fiona Apple Arrested For Drug Possession While Lady Gaga Smokes Weed Freely in Amsterdam
Fiona Apple was arrested for possession of a hash, which is a condensed form of the illegal drug cannibis, aka marijuana. On the other side of the world, fellow singer Lady Gaga was captured on video puffing a weed joint on stage in Amsterdam Europe.
Apple was not so lucky and busted for her illegal possession of the drug on Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2012 at the border of Sierra Blanca, Texas. The mugshot taken doesn't look so pretty either. This is her first arrest.
Any amount of hash is considered a felony in the state of Texas. The Hudspeth County sheriff office's rep Rusty Flemming reported that Apple possessed "a little tiny amount of pot and hash." Apple had to stay overnight at the country jail and it took a hefty $10,000 bond to release her on Thursday.

The singer is not the only celebrity who has been busted for drugs at that same border. Others include Snoop Dogg, Willie Nelson, and Armie Hammer, according to Huffington Post.
Marijuana is considered the most widely used illegal substance, and there are many celebrities who have been caught smoking it. Gaga apparently took advantage of the legality of pot in Amsterdam, while it is mostly illegal worldwide.
According to Wikipedia:
A decades-long study of more than 1,000 New Zealanders found that the persistent, dependent use of marijuana before age 18 showed lasting harm to a person's intelligence, attention and memory. The international team of researchers found an average IQ decline of 8 points when age 13 and age 38 IQ tests were compared. Quitting cannabis did not appear to reverse the loss either, said lead researcher Madeline Meier, a post-doctoral researcher at Duke University.
