'So You Think You Can Dance' New Judges Panel - Paula Abdul & Jason Derulo Join 'SYTYCD' Following Mary Murphy's Firing
Get ready to dance with some of the most iconic dancers in the music industry. So You Think You Can Dance has just unveiled the new judging panel for their upcoming season and it is pretty start-studded if we do say so ourselves. Not only have they enlisted the help of Paula Abdul, who will be making her way home to FOX, but they have also hired Jason Derulo to come onboard for the dance extravagant.
According to E! News, the judges will be joined by returning cast members Cat Deeley and Nigel Lythgoe when the new season kicks off this summer.
Paula spoke out to Entertainment Tonight to explain her joy about coming to the TV program.
"I'm happy to be back with the Fox family," the former American Idol judge said. "It's like my home away from home. In many ways, I feel like I never really left. I say I'm like a cousin to this show because I've been able to step in and guest judge."
As for Derulo, the "Talk Dirty" singer says that he is happy to have Abdul and Lythgoe coach him through his first season as a judge.
"I'm lucky to have my colleagues be vets because I'm fresh. I'm still wet behind the ears!" the star explained.
The complete judges panel comes just in time for auditions, which kicked off this past weekend in New York City. Mary Murphy, who was a staple on the last few seasons of SYTYCD, is notably absent from the judges panels after news broke of her firing earlier this year.
The new season will kick off in May.
