'The Flash' Recap: Grant Gustin's Barry Allen Meets DC Comics' Pied Pier In "The Sound And The Fury!"
A major super villain from the DC Comics Universe arrives in an exciting all-new episode of CW's The Flash. With his friends in trouble, Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) has to face off against The Pied Piper in order in discover Harrison Well's secrets in 'The Sound and the Fury.'
After stopping the Royal Flash gang, Barry takes a picture with his S.T.A..R. Labs friends. Because of her blog, Iris West (Candice Patton) has been asked to join the Central City Picture News. Just as Dr. Harrison Wells (Tom Cavanagh) returns, a sonic blast destroys the windows of his fancy home.
Joe West (Jesse L. Martin) and Barry arrive to investigate the destruction. Cisco (Carlos Valdes) and Caitlin Snow (Danielle Panabaker) have never been inside Wells' home before. Barry puts the glass back together, discovering there was no point of impact; meaning it wasn't a prank call.
2 years ago, Hartley Rathaway (Andrew Mientus) was Harrison's protege. He thought Cisco was a joke and he couldn't get along with Caitlin. Hartley was the one responsible who built the particle accelerator with Wells.
At the Picture News, Iris discovers the editor only wants her because she wrote about the scarlet speedster. Elsewhere, the Pied Piper uses his sonic blasts to destroy the Rathaway Industries building. When the Flash arrives, the Pied Piper always himself to get captured, because he wants to meet Wells face-to-face.
At the prison, the Pied Piper reveals he lost his hearing due to particle accelerator explosion. Cisco and the Piped Piper compete with each other by speaking Spanish. The Pied Piper even mocks Caitlin, reminding her of Ronnie's death.
Harrison Wells reveals that Rathaway knew the particle accelerator wasn't built to last and would explode. Before Rathaway could stop the grand unveiling, Wells had him fired and arrested. During the night, the Pied Pier escapes, stealing data from the computers, and injuring Cisco.
After losing the trust of his team, Wells tries to get them back by holding a press conference. In front of the cameras, Wells admits he was wrong about his invention. This draws the attention of the Pied Piper, who has been studying the Flash's molecular structure.
At the highway, the Pied Piper uses his sonic blasts to harm innocent civilians, throwing cars over the dam. The Flash manages to save the passengers, but ends up in Piper's trap. Wells sends a soundwave that destroys Piper's sonic blasters and buns his hands.
Back in the prison, Pied Piper tells Cisco he knows where Firestorm and how he can save him. Barry doesn't know Joe is secretly investigating Wells. In his secret lair, Wells knows that with his super-speed powers fading, the endgame is near.
