Paris Hilton Twitter Apology To Gays: Is It Sincere Enough? [READ AND VOTE]
Paris Hilton came under fire when an audio recording of her bashing gays was released. She took to Twitter to release an official apology.
The audio recording was captured by a New York City cab driver while Hilton was in New York for Fashion Week. Hilton was actually riding along with her gay friend and the audio recording only captured pieces of the conversation.
Even though the recording may be have been taken out of context, the words Hilton spoke could have easier caused misunderstanding.
She was recorded saying, "Ew, ew... Gay guys are the horniest people in the world... They're disgusting. Dude, most of them probably have AIDS."
Hilton realized how her words may have been hurtful and tweeted on Sept. 21, 2012, "I want to say how sorry I am. I can't fit the whole apology about the cab recording here, so please read it at @glaad"
Part of her apology reads:
As anyone close to me knows, I always have been and always will be a huge supporter of the gay community. I am so sorry and so upset that I caused pain to my gay friends, fans and their families with the comments heard this morning.
I was having this private conversation with a friend of mine who is gay and our conversation was in no way towards the entire gay community.
