Recently released, the 2015 trailer of The Fantastic Four presents a contemporary and darker reimagining of Marvel Comics' longest-running superhero team. Director Josh Trank (Chronicle) puts together an all-star dramatic cast, with Miles Teller (Reed Richards / Mr. Fantastic), Kate Mara (Sue Storm / The Invisible Woman), Michael B. Jordan (Johnny Storm/The Human Torch), and Jamie Bell (Ben Grimm /The Thing), bringing their comic book alter egos to life.

As we previously mentioned, the plot revolves around a group of four outsiders who teleport themselves onto a dangerous universe. As their physical form is altered, the team must learn how to harness their daunting new powers and work together to save Earth from a former ally turned enemy.

Here are our 5 thoughts on the Fantastic Four trailer:

1) She Found Latveria

In the trailer, we see Sue Storm (Mara) pinpointing the location of her target on her screen. According to Comic Book, one of the Easter Eggs found in the footage is Latvia's coordinates, "23.21.190.125." In the comics, Latveria is somewhere in Eastern Europe, which also happens to be Doctor Doom's kingdom.

2) We're In The Ultimate Universe

If the movie follows the Ultimate Universe storyline, Reed and his teammates will teleport themselves into a parallel universe, called the Negative Zone, or "N-Zone." The Amazing Spider-Man movies followed the Ultimate Universe comics as well, putting the wall-crawler in modern times. Keeping the themes grounded, that's why Uncle Ben is able to say "with great power comes great responsibility" without actually saying it.

3) No Cheese Please

The Fanatic Four movies previously made by director Tim Story, starring Jessica Alba and Chris Evans, captures the essence of the original Stan Lee/Jack Kirby comics. The comics were geared for children and the FF flicks were supposed to be family films. Cutting out the cheese factor, filmmaker Josh Tank's vision is a darker one and it doesn't look like Johnny Storm (Jordan) is supposed to steal the show as the comic relief.

4) What The Hell Is That?

If we are indeed in the N-Zone, that means the team has to deal with its entropic heat death and the atmosphere is supposed to be lethally acidic. Is that their spaceship being destroyed in the background? How long are they going to be trapped there? I can't wait to find out!

5) Flame On!

How faithful is the movie to the Ultimate Universe comics? Will Johnny Storm say "Flame On!" before he becomes The Human Torch? Will Ben Grimm (Bell) have his Brooklyn accent? Will The Thing say his femur catchphrase, "It's Clobbering Time?" I can't wait to see this movie on the big screen!

The Fantastic Four will hit theaters on August 7, 2015.
