Nicki Minaj Introduces New Perfume 'Pink Friday', Coincides With Lady Gaga 'Fame'
Nicki Minaj released her first perfume, "Pink Friday." The official promotion was made at Macy's Herald Square in New York City on Monday (September 24). Minaj wore a pink police officer hat and multicolored bra in a pink jacket at the location and signed autographs for her fans.
"I've been thinking about for like, the last two years actually. I knew I was going to call it Pink Friday," the singer told MTV news. "I didn't know I would have a pink wig on the bottle until I met with the fragrance company and they asked me what I wanted my bottle to look like and I said... is there any way we can put a pink wig on it?"
The mixture of Juicy fruits, creamy vanilla and sensual musk is in the bottle with a pink wig and gold NICKE MINAJ nameplate necklace.
"Pink Friday is a celebration of my life at this moment; it is a reflection of me as a creator, and an expression of me as a woman. I know my Barbz will connect with and appreciate each aspect - from the name, to the outrageous bottle design, to the vibrant colors that create their own song. Pink Friday shows off my personality and style; it's exciting to express my voice through another dimension," says Nicki Minaj.
Minaj's new perfume launch coincidentally launched around the same time as Lady Gaga's "Fame" perfume launch. Both pop divas have a loyal fan base and there is nothing to worry about them clashing. Monsters and Barbz are very different in nature.
