'Star Wars' Spin Off 2016 Movie Casts Oscar Nominee Felicity Jones? Tatiana Maslany Out? [RUMORS] 'Theory Of Everything' Actress Reportedly Joins Gareth Edwards Stand-Alone Film
It looks like Academy Award nominee Felicity Jones is the latest star to join the Disney and Lucasfilm Star Wars universe. After rumors of other actresses, including Kate Mara, Rooney Mara and Tatiana Maslany allegedly trying out for a leading role in the 2016 Gareth Edwards stand-alone, spin-off film project, reports this week are pouring in saying Jones has been hired. Other casting speculation is surrounding Aaron Paul (again) and Edgar Ramirez, too.

The Hollywood Reporter broke this news, with numerous other websites starting speculation on the film's plot. Previous reports suggested that Han Solo and Boba Fett could be subjects of their own spin-off films, but more recently we've heard that this 2016 movie could involve both bounty hunter characters. This leads us to the Aaron Paul and Edgar Ramirez rumors.
We previously reported on the rumors of Paul allegedly being cast as a young Solo. You can read more on that here!
Reports are saying that these two actors could be up for the same role, but what if they both get cast in the new movie, written by Chris Weitz? Would you want to see both stars opposite Jones in the new movie?
Plus, if the film is indeed about a group of bounty hunters, is Jones going to be one of them? That would certainly be a great follow up film after all of this Oscar buzz that is currently surrounding her.
Are you hoping Jones officially signs on? What about Paul and Romirez? Let us know what you think of this casting news in the comments section below!
This mysterious new film, directed by Gareth Edwards, is set to begin filming this spring and hit theaters December 16, 2016, according to Slash Film.
