Gangnam Style Excluded From Youtube Chart for Most Liked Video, Angry Fans Petition For Psy
Psy's "Gangnam Style" music video has racked up more likes on Youtube than any other video, however a strange thing happened. It was erased from Youtube's Charts. There is no mention of Psy on the All Time "Most Liked" chart.
On September 26, 2012 at approximately 10:30 a.m. EST, LMFAO's "Party Rock Anthem ft. Lauren Bennett and GoonRock took lead as the #1 Most liked video with 1,582,256 likes.
The "Gangnam Style" music video currently has 2,819,955 likes, which is nearly double LMFAO's video.
Angry fans have come together to petition Youtube to bring Psy's "Gangnam Style" back on the chart.
A website was created devoted to this cause titled "What Happened to Gangnam Style?" The site claims, "On September 13, Gangnam Style MV became the most LIKED video in YouTube history worldwide with 2,234,180 likes, but 7 days later, on Sep 20, it was removed from Youtube's Most Liked All Time Chart as you can see on the snapshots below."
Since it's launch, nearly 700 petitions have been signed.
On September 26, 2012, Mstarz captured the image of the Most Liked chart on Youtube attached to the article to show that Gangnam Style is no where found on the chart.
Many media sources online have reported just days ago that Gangnam Style had obtained the "Guiness World Record" for the Most liked music video in history.
A request for comment has been made by Mstarz, however Youtube has not responded yet.
Update: As of Sept. 26, 2012, 11:18 a.m. EST, the chart had suddenly changed to feature Adele's "Rolling In the Deep" as #1 with 1,251,965 likes. Youtube might be working on something in the back end.
Update: As of Sept. 26, 2012, 1:09 p.m. EST, the international Youtube chart returned back to capture LMFAO as #1. Still, there is no sign of Psy's "Gangnam Style."
