'Glee' Season 6 [SPOILERS]: Transgender Storyline- Who Is Going Through Transition? See Before & After [PHOTOS]
Fans of Glee are about to see a whole new side of the football coach, and a whole new identity for that matter. The Ryan Murphy-created musical series, which is currently finishing out it's sixth and last season has just revealed that they will be focusing on a transgender storyline during the next couple of episodes. Fans learned that Coach Beiste played by Dot-Marie Jones will be making the transition from female to male in the next couple of episodes, and viewers couldn't be more excited to see the change.
According to E! News, the switch will take place during the February 13 episode, appropriately titled, "Transitioning," as the football coach introduces fans to her new persona of Sheldon.
Dot-Marie sat down with E! News to talk about her role and why she couldn't be happier with the storyline.
"Ryan Murphy told me he had big plans for me this season and I said, 'Awesome, I'm ready.' He made me a series regular. I got the script is how I found out about it," the star explained of the transgender storyline. "And at first when I was reading the script, you know the cancer thing, I was like, 'Oh, crap. No!' And then I kept reading and I'm like, 'Holy sh*t! This is totally different!' I never expected it at all."

The star also spoke out to People about the portrayal of the character and her apprehension at first, before realizing how great the storyline was going to be.
"I just didn't want to let down the girls who are straight and tomboys that my character represented the last four seasons," the star explained to the magazine. "But I got the script and I was like, 'Oh my God. This is amazing.'"
Glee is currently airing its sixth and final season on Fridays at 9 pm on Fox.
