Sophie Simmons on 'X-Factor': Daughter of Legendary KISS Rock Star Auditions [VIDEO]

Sophie Tweed-Simmons, daughter of legendary KISS rock star and front man Gene Simmons, proved that she inherited her father's impressive vocals on a recent episode of "X-Factor." 19-year-old Simmons (who wants to be known for her own musical talent without any help from her famous dad) auditioned for the hit singing reality show with a decent rendition of Adele's "Make you Feel my Love." While her well-known parents watched from backstage, Sophie managed to make it through to the next round (without having to brag about her rock-royalty status just to try and impress the judges).

According to Sophie, "I really just want to step out of being the daughter of the guy from KISS. I want to be my own person and hopefully this is the way to show the world who I am."

The judges enjoyed her overall performance, but they believe she still has a long way to go if she wants to succeed in the competition. While L.A. Reid didn't get the "chill bumps" he had been hoping for, Demi Lovato insisted that "there was special" about the "Family Jewels" reality star. Three out of the four judges agreed she deserved a second chance to work on her vocal tone and control so she could come back and "wow" them.

Following her successful performance, teary-eyed Sophie told the camera, "I want to prove to myself that I have talent and that I have 'The X Factor' and that I can do this. It's not about my dad's band or my mom. It's about me. I am just excited to show that."

Still, many other individuals auditioning couldn't help but to only associate Sophie with her famous father Gene Simmons. One self-described "star" sitting close to the Simmons before Sophie's audition couldn't help but to roll her eyes and insist that, "This is my time, I have paid my dues, I have worked for this, nothing's been handed to me, it's all been on the sweat of my back. I'm so ready to bring it, it's on."
