If you were holding out for BioWare's new 4v1 RPG action video Game Shadow Realms, we have some very terrible news for you. According to a new Blog update from the developers, EA and BioWare have decided to focus more attention on Dragon Age: Inquisition updates and the next and future installments of the Mass Effect series. Plus, the most attention will be on Star Wars: The Old Republic expansions.

According to IGN, multiple sources have been speculating on this cancellation since BioWare delayed the Closed Alpha testing for the title, but now the company has made an official statement on the subject. This news comes directly from BioWare Austin General Manager, Jeff Hickman.

"We've made the decision to not move forward with development of Shadow Realms. We fully recognize that this news is disappointing to some of our fans, so I want to explain more behind this decision," Hickman wrote this week on the game's official blog.

From there, Hickman explained why the game has been cancelled, naming the other projects his team would be working on, including the upcoming Old Republic title.

"We've got an incredibly talented team here at the Austin studio, and they are excited and already deep on new projects within the BioWare family, ones that will make some great BioWare games even better," he said. "[T]he biggest focus for our team in BioWare Austin will be on Star WarsTM: The Old RepublicTM. As every Star WarsTM fan knows, this is a massive year in the Star Wars universe. We have some great plans for expanding this epic game this year, and look forward to sharing the news about those plans with our players in the coming weeks.
