'All-New Hawkeye' #1: Jeremy Renner's Clint Barton, Avenging Archer, Gets His Own Solo Marvel Series!
After saving the world from aliens, Clint Barton (played by Jeremy Renner) is getting his own ongoing series by an exciting new creative team. This March, Animal Man's blockbuster writer Jeff Lemire and Eisner-award winning artist Ramon Perez (Jim Henson's Tale Of Sand) are about to het an exciting new adventure with All-New Hawkeye #1.
In the Marvel Universe, Hawkeye, also known as Clint Barton, started out as a reluctant villain who eventually joins the superhero Avengers team. With no superhuman powers, Clint has conditioned his body to become an exceptional fencer, acrobat and marksman. We were very excited to see him previously take on Deadpool, the mercy with a mouth.
According to the press release, the plot revolves around Kate Bishop, his most trusted ward and protégé back at his side. Team Hawkeye is thrown in to an all-new adventure that spans two generations of avenging archers. Past and present lives collide as Kate and Clint face a threat that will challenge everything they know about what it means to be a hero.
In an interview with Marvel, the Trilllium writer explains the plot, "To me, Kate is an equal to Clint in terms of who the 'star' of the book is. It's equal billing. It will be as much Kate's story as it is Clint's. The threat they'll be facing is very much something new. And it's not strictly a big bombastic super-villain-y kind of thing. It's something that hits them both on a much more personal level."
As we previously mentioned, the Avenger's most trusted ally was teated to an impressive sculpture by the famous wax museum known as Madame Tussauds. During New York Comic Con 2014, audiences were given a chance to take a peek at the well-crafted wax figure based on the Marvel Comics marksman.
All-New Hawkeye #1 is expected to hit stores in March.
