Cinemax Renews 'Banshee' For 2016 Episodes, Season 4 - What Characters Will Survive 2015's Season 3 Though?
Right before the upcoming sixth episode of the hit show Banshee's third season, Cinemax has renewed the series for brand new episodes to air in 2016. Though we're just about halfway through the 2015 season, fans can now rest easy knowing the story of the man posing as Sheriff Lucas Hood (Antony Starr) will continue with eight more episodes after this year's finale. "The hit action series Banshee will return to Cinemax in 2016 for a fourth season of eight episodes, which will shoot in Pittsburgh, Pa.," the network said in a press release sent out to media outlets this week following the news. "It was announced today by Kary Antholis, president, HBO Miniseries and Cinemax Programming."
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the upcoming 2016 season of Banshee will see the return of executive producers Alan Ball, Greg Yaitanes, Jonathan Tropper, Peter Macdissi, Adam Targum and Ole Christian Madsen. As far as returning cast members, we could assume Starr will return in season four, but we all know that each week could spell the end of any character's life on this violent series.
