'Assassin's Creed' 2016 Movie News, Spoilers - Oscar-Winner Marion Cotillard Cast In Michael Fassbender Video Game Film
Last week, Ubisoft and New Regency announced that the highly anticipated movie adaptation of the popular video game franchise Assassin's Creed had officially gone into production. With filming starting soon, we knew that it was only a matter of time before more cast members joined leading man Michael Fassbender in the 2016 film. In fact, just a few days after the production announcement, Oscar-winner Marion Cotillard signed on to reunite with her Macbeth costar and director, Justin Kurzel! Check out more on this news below!

So far, this project seems pretty amazing. A video game adaptation might not seem like the kind of project that Fassbender, Cotillard and Kurzel would follow up a stage performance-turned-film version of William Shakespeare's Macbeth, but we should probably just assume they've created a great working relationship that will translate well in theaters in 2016.
Cotillard, who won an Academy Award for Best Actress and is currently nominated for the same award this year for her role in Two Days, One Night, joins the project with Fassbender producing, which has been in-the-works for quite some time. It has a release date set for Dec. 21, 2016. Deadline broke the casting news for Cotillard.
The Macbeth project from this group is set to hit theaters later this year.
According to Collider, the actress's role is being kept secret for now. Considering her celebrity status, we should expect it to be one of the bigger roles in the story. Are there any Assassin's Creed story-mode fans out there that want to venture a guess or two about who she could be playing?
