Mike Tyson's visa has been canceled after sponsorship withdrew support for his New Zealand visit. According to The Associated Press, the former Heavy weight champion had a speaking engagement in September, but had been denied a visa due to a New Zealand lawmaker.

The nation's associate immigration minister, Kate Wilkinson canceled the visa after deciding to overrule the decision an immigration officer previously made when she found out that Tyson's charitable group changed plans on sending and supporting his trip.

Tyson had been convicted of rape in 1992 and spent three years in prison, but despite his past, it was because of the support from the charity "Life Education Trust" that gave Tyson permission for a visa. Wilkinson commented on her decision to deny Tyson and said, "A finely balanced call."

Entering a different realm of work, Tyson may have had another motive to his visit. Tyson was also scheduled to perform his one man show, "Mike Tyson: Undisputed Truth." During a visit to Hong Kong, Tyson told reporters, "I want to dance and sing. I want to do some dancing and singing musicals."

The former boxer plans on directing his career onto the stage and remain outside of the ring. Not too sure about his acting abilities, since it isn't that hard playing yourself in a movie and knocking someone out cold, but maybe people should be more open to his new ventures in life.
