Afroman Arrested, Punches Groupie! [WATCH]: Dancing Female Storms Stage, Bleeding & Crying As 'High' Rapper Performs, Assault Mugshot

Was Afroman "high" when he punched an overzealous (female) fan in the face during a performance in Mississippi on Tuesday (February 17)?

According to the popular gossip webloid TMZ, the 40-year-old former Grammy Award nominee allegedly hit the unidentified groupie when she unexpectedly stormed the stage during his gig in Biloxi. Eyewitnesses confirm that the blow was HARD, since Afro haymaker-punched the side of her head while her back was still turned. The woman fell to the ground, crying and bleeding. Meanwhile, Afroman continued with his performance. Things finally came to a hault when the venue's house-lights turned-on and the audio was silenced.

Apparently, the chick was just dancing onstage during the Mardi Gras celebration when she was suddenly "attacked" - check it out:

Security quickly took control of the situation and escorted the bewildered female offstage. Authorities later arrived and took the Sell Your Dope hit-maker outside, where he was ultimately handcuffed and arrested.

Afroman was booked for assault, and later released on a $330 bond.

According to the Palmdale emcee's rep, Afroman's violent behavior was totally "out of character." He didn't even realize if the stage-rusher was male or female - he just instinctively reacted. If more secuirty was provided, the shocking incident would not have happened.

Afroman has yet to release an official statement, so stay tuned.
