Drake Leaving Cash Money, Lil Wayne 'Wins' Birdman Beef Amid Mixtape Release Diss? 'Views From The 6' Last Album, Will Nicki Minaj Support Split?
Rapper Lil Wayne wants to end his association with Cash Money Records. And rumors now suggest that fellow YMCMB hypeman Drake's ready to sever ties with hip-hop mogul Birdman, too.
In fact, Drizzy's highly-anticipated upcoming album Views From The 6 will probably be his last release through the popular music label.
Maybe that's why the Toronto native shocked fans with the surprise mixtape release, If You're Reading This - It's Too Late?
According to Page Six, Rihanna's 28-year-old ex is cryptically sending major warning signs to Birdman. Drake's rumored contract with Cash Money requires a total of five full-length album releases. Drizzy's latest 17-track iTunes release officially counts as No. 4. The concrete debut of Views From The 6 still remains a total mystery, but new songs will hopefully drop sometime later this year.
So by 2016, will the "Yolo" emcee be out for good?
An alleged snitch reveals that like Weezy, the former "Degrassi" star wants more respect and creative (cash flow) freedom:
"Drake is probably frustrated... He's gotten to a point where he wants more."
Perhaps his future sixth studio release will provide a "new view" - get it?
So, did Drizzy release his viral Nothing Was The Same follow-up in such haste only to fulfill contractual obligations? Well, it's working... the album was a huge success, and now Drake only has one more to go.
Details surrounding the "Only" crooner's current agreement remain secret, but apparently he signed a lucrative deal with Cash Money back in 2009 for $2 million. His career quickly exploded after that. And now he wants more...
"Envelopes coming in the mail/Hoping for a check again/Ain't no telling."
First Weezy, and now Drizzy. Will Nicki Minaj soon follow?
Reps for both sides refused to comment.
