Danny Devito And Rhea Perlman Separating After 30 Years of marriage
Danny DeVito and Rhea Perlman are separating after 30 years of marriage. According to Entertainment Tonight, the couple's rep, Stan Rosenfield confirmed the couples split on Monday night. After living together for 11 years the two married each other January 28, 1982 and have three children-- Lucy, 29, Grace, 27, and Jacob, 24.
The comedy couple starred alongside each other when Perlman was casted as Zena, the girlfriend of Louis DePalma, DeVito's character in the sitcom "Taxi." Fans couldn't get enough of the comedy power couple and they starred beside each other as the cruel husband and wide duo in 1996 "Matilda." There hasn't been word on why the couple decided to part ways after three decades, but we're sure to find out as time goes.
In a prior interview about their marriage, Rhea said, "Ours is not a fighting relationship. We both always feel terrible after even a small amount of harsh words." When she was asked about his meanest ways she added, "Was refusing to tickle my back when I asked him." At one point in the interview she said, "You'd really have to work hard at breaking us up at this point."
According to Zimbio.com, Michael Douglas who is a mutual friend and colleague to the couple said pre breakup, "There's a balance to their relationship, and they protect it zealously. There's a magic about them."
It's always sad to see such a lasting relationship go down the drain, but we guess it wouldn't be a normal Hollywood relationship if breakups didn't occur.
