'Justified' Season 6 Spoilers: Twitter Reacts To Timothy Olyphant, Duke Davis Roberts' Choo-Choo Shocker! [WATCH]
Based on the popular crime novels by the late author Elmore Leonard, the final Season 6 season of Justified continues on FX. Twitter had lots to say as Raylan Givens (Timothy Olyphant) went up against the misunderstood Choo-Choo (Duke Davis Roberts) in a major shocking gun battle, marking the beginning of a body count.
In our previous recap, Raylan was busy tracking Ava (Joelle Carter), who was on the run. Ty Walker (Garret Dillahunt) ordered his paramilitary men to get info out of Calhoun. Unfortunately, Choo-Choo didn't realize his own strength and killed Calhoun with one punch. Not only did Choo-Choo screw up, there was a dead body and an eyewitness he had to get rid of.
In our recent recap, Avery ordered the death of Choo-Choo, who was conflicted over killing Calhoun's mistress/secretary Caprice (Ashley Dulaney). During the fatal shoot-out, while Ty managed to escape, Choo-Choo took hits from both Raylan and Tim (Jacob Pitts). Bleeding from his bullet wounds, Choo-Choo dies just as he is almost hit by a railroad train.
In an interview with with Vulture, the former MMA fighter speaks about his character's ironic death, "I love that bit because it's ironic in a way. You're playing with the viewers' grandiose expectations of the train smearing this wounded dog, but he just bleeds out quietly. I thought it was fitting."
Roberts also reveals how he got his famous nickname, "It came from Timothy Olyphant's brain. He talked to the writers and had them change my name. He told me there was some baseball player whose nickname was Choo-Choo [former Mets and Phillies catcher Choo-Choo Coleman]. Tim thought that was so funny, and they just ran with it."
