'American Horror Story' Season 5 'Hotel' Lady Gaga to Star: Mother Monster Role in Ryan Murphy's FX Series, Is She Replacing Jessica Lange?
American Horror Story might be all about monsters, but Ryan Murphy has hit the jackpot as he just cast the mother of all monsters to appear on Season 5 of the FX series. The horror anthology seems to have made some extremely appropriate casting choices, as Lady Gaga just announced that she would be starring in the new installment this fall. The ARTPOP singer revealed the news on her Twitter account and even previewed what the new theme will be in a short video clip. In traditional Gaga fashion, the star showed off a pretty elaborate and gruesome costume that looked like a bloodied face. As she turned to the camera, she said, "American Horror Story Season 5." She then removed the mask and whispered that the new theme will be "Hotel."
In sticking with the theme, she captioned the video, "Make your reservation now. #GagaAHSHotel"
The video didn't give much away except the subtitle for the new season along with an October premiere date.
Entertainment Weekly also confirmed the new season and theme of the show, reporting that it is not yet known which role Gaga will undertake, but that she'll indeed have a starring role on Season 5.
So will Gaga be taking over the role that might be left vacant by Jessica Lange, as it is still unknown if she'll be taking part in the new season? The starlet told E! News in November that she would have to discuss it with Ryan once Freak Show was over.
"You know, I told him that we would sit down and have a long conversation when this was over," the star told the news site. "In a way this character is so great, I don't know how you top Elsa Mars. I really -- in deference to Ryan, who I love dearly and who I respect beyond -- I have no idea at this point."
We're definitely going to be making our reservations now to check into the Hotel in October.
