WATCH 'Mortal Kombat X' 2015 Gameplay Story Trailer [VIDEO] Mileena Revealed With 3 New Characters

If you were already convinced that the upcoming April 14, 2015 release from Netherrealm Studios, Mortal Kombat X was pretty brutal, just wait until you see the actual story behind the violent game! That's right; a brand new trailer released this week explains the story mode of Mortal Kombat X and introduces new characters. Familiar demon-face Mileena shows ups, leading an army of evil forces to combat 3 new characters, all of whom are descendants of previous of classic MK characters of the past! "Taking place 25 years after the events of Mortal Kombat (2011), the new generation of characters will discover that Outworld is not the only threat they face," Netherrealm Studios said in a press release accompanying this new trailer this week. "Fans will get a first look at the newest fighters to join Cassie Cage, including Jacqueline Briggs, daughter of Jax, Takashi Takeda, son of Kenshi, and Kung Jin, descendant of Kung Lao." 

We already met Cassie Cage, the daughter of Sonja Blade and Johnny Cage, in a number of gameplay trailers released over the last few months, but developers have taken the offspring concept and added these three newer characters based on their familial ancestry in the game. We do get to see Kung Lao in this game though, so perhaps there's some kind of twist involving Jin in the story mode.

Maybe the biggest piece of news we can take away from this trailer is the return of Mileena. We know that Kitana is a playable character, so we'll see how these two interact when the story plays out this spring.
