Leading up to tonight's episode of HBO's Togetherness, entitled "Party Time," our hopes for Brett and Michelle's marriage have been slowly but surely unraveling. Though the title is pretty joyous, a lot of drama goes down not only for our couples' therapy characters. When Brett meets David, will his new life lessons with Lind help? Michelle, with the help of Brett, is throwing a fundraiser party at her home for the charter school she's working on with David. Tina brings one of her bounce house to make the party complete, and Brett leaves to attend a gathering of some sort at Linda's house. Michelle isn't thrilled that he's leaving to hang out with another woman, but when he explains she's a friend of his just like David is a friend of hers, Michelle's face gets pretty guilty, if you ask us!

We find out that Alex and Tina are ignoring each other, saying they don't know whom the other is, in a childish manner, confusing Michelle. Obviously, the ending of last week's episode is still fresh in their minds. Tina asks Sophie for some help setting up the bounce house, but a child can't really do much, plus there are a ton of spiders, mud and dusk all over it, so that's not good.

If you thought Linda was a stereotypical hippie last week, you'll be a little surprised to see the levels she reaches in this episode. Clearly a very wealthy woman, Linda has a mansion in the Hollywood hills (I assume) that was left to her when her father died. Now it's a commune of sorts, with a chill dude named Scott taking care of it mostly as Linda does her own thing. Scott offers Brett his 'shrooms tea, explaining that he needs it to really enjoy life and open up. Brett clearly starts to reevaluate his stance on drugs.

Back at the party, Tina isn't having an easy time setting up her bouncy castle without Alex's help and Michelle fauns over David and his daughters as soon as he arrives. Alex notices this. While Michelle and David flirt in their way, Brett is in a tent with Linda opening up. David asks where Brett is, which makes Michelle open up, too.

So Brett decided to try Scott's tea, which lets us experience a high Brett! He gets real weird and it's real great. He decides to FaceTime with Alex, showing us a phone screen view of Brett freaking out in the woods. Alex tracks down Brett and brings him home. Before he leaves, Linda puts a rubber band around his wrist.

Tina has a pretty serious conversation with Larry, who pretty much puts himself out there for her. Alex, of course, sees this as well.

Brett, still stoned, walks out into his backyard in only a robe. He starts talking with David, revealing that he's threatened by his wife's relationship with him. It seems like a pretty freeing moment, with Brett truly just being himself. Michelle pulls Brett away from the party, but the conversation they have gets so real!

Since he's still on drugs, Brett is being incredibly open. He points out that he saw Michelle having a great day until he showed up. This openness allows Brett to tell his wife that they aren't good for each other right now, which he means literally, though-just in that moment and that day. It sounded way more serious than it actually was, and maybe it was, but boy was that intense.

Alex finally offers to help Tina. Sadly, he's helping her get rid of a bounce house, which could mean the end of her professional life. Larry wants to take care of her, but is she ready to move in with him? She breaks down, hugs Alex and tells him she's moving in with Larry.
