'The View' Rosie O'Donnell Officially Divorces Wife Michelle Rounds Following Exit from Whoopi Golberg & Nicolle Wallace Series
2015 has started out being pretty rocky for Rosie O'Donnell; not only has the comedienne decided to leave long running ABC series The View, but she has also announced her split from Michelle Rounds. While the couple has been together for almost three years, O'Donnell officially filed for divorce on Friday, Feb. 27, at the Manhattan State Supreme Court.
According to Radar Online, who got ahold of the divorce papers, it seems that Rosie cited "an irretrievably broken relationship," as the reason behind the breakup.
However, according to the site it seems that Rosie and Michelle tried to make the relationship work to the best of their abilities, as a rep for the former talk show host reported that they split back in November.
"I can confirm that Rosie and her wife Michelle split in November," the rep explained, which makes it seem like that for the last three months the two have been trying to make the relationship work.
However, due to all the family drama, Rosie decided that something had to give and she decided to leave the morning talk show to focus on her family and her own health, according to Us Weekly.
"Rosie has teens and an infant at home that need her attention," the insider explained. "This has been a very stressful situation. She is putting her personal health and family first. ABC has been wonderfully understanding and supportive of her personal decision to leave The View."
Rosie was previously with her partner Kelli Carpenter, who have four children together. O'Donnell and Rounds have no kids together.
