Longtime Chelsea FC captain and starting defender, John Terry is hoping to receive a contract extension at the club before his current contract expires on July 1, 2015. After being named the Man of the Match this weekend after Chelsea's Capital One Cup final victory over Tottenham Hotspur, we're sure the club knows how important the 34-year-old footballer is. This week, coach Jose Mourinho informed the press and fans that he believes there is no doubt Terry will return to Chelsea next season.

"If this is my last year, then I hope it goes out on a bang," Terry said in a recent press conference. "But I am feeling great at the minute and it would be the wrong time to go."

The former captain of England's International team said he is not looking to play for another team if another offer came up.

"I have my little target to play next year, but, beyond that, two or three years, I don't know," he explained.

According to Jose Mourinho, Terry doesn't have to worry too much about playing next season.

"Yes, it will be before the end of the season for sure. I can guarantee is he will be a Chelsea player next season. I can guarantee that," Mourinho said, according to The Guardian. " To be able to guarantee that, it's because I know what my board tell me and what the player tells me. No doubts he is going to get his contract - no doubts."

He added: "This is a process that we can take our time over because John is proving again this season that he's a player for years. When I came back last year he was coming from a difficult period, but last season he was very good. This season, even better than last season. So, normally, he has time to enjoy his football with us. At the same time, he gives us time to think about what will happen next."
