Marvel Spider-Man Actor Casting Rumors 2015: Dylan O'Brien Hasn't Been Approached "Professionally," Would Love To Play Peter Parker
The new deal between Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios opened up the doors to a new Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but what actor will take on the role of Peter Parker or any other incarnation of the web-slinger? We shared some of our choices last month and rumors have been circulating for a while, too. One name that's a big part of the rumor mill is Teen Wolf and Maze Runner star Dylan O'Brien. This week, the young actor addressed the casting speculation and opened up about possibly playing Spider-Man in the near future.

"Professionally, I haven't heard anything about it," O'Brien this week told BuzzFeed News on the set of Teen Wolf (via UPROXX). "I've only heard from, like, [rumors] online. It feels so weird to say. It's so funny. My friends from New Jersey are calling me. They're like, what are you not telling me, dude?! Spider-Man?!"
Even though he denied the rumors, we know that he'd have to stay quiet about this news if he really was cast as Spider-Man. So whether or not the rumors are true, O'Brien revealed that he would be pretty ecstatic to play the part!
"It's nothing but flattering. It's never something I would want to get myself excited about, since I know I haven't heard about it from a professional standpoint. I've always wanted to play Peter Parker, obviously. I feel like any actor my age, that's, like, a big thing," he continued, addressing the other casting rumors surrounding Logan Lerman. "And my name being tossed with Logan Lerman's is the coolest thing ever, too. I just think that kid is f****ng fantastic."
