Katie Holmes,Tom Cruise Divorce: $400k Per Year, No Spousal Support, Cruise May Leave Scientology
Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes divorce agreements revealed. Even though divorce was finalized back in August, Cruise still wants Holmes back and is willing to leave Scientology.
In the divorce settlement, Cruise agreed to pay $400,000 per year for the next twelve years in child support for their six-year-old daughter Suri. Cruise, who is reportedly worth $250 million, has agreed to give Holmes sole custody of their only child because of his busy acting career. During the filing, Holmes wanted a discrete and smooth process outside of the public eye filing her divorce documents under "anonymous caption." The Dawson's Creek star continues, "Defendant is a well- known public figure of great wealth and prominence... I fear for the health and welfare of our minor child should our divorce fall within the view of the public," according to Star magazine.
As Cruise continues to film his upcoming movies, sources close to him say that he may be considering leaving Scientology to win Holmes back. Cruise became a devout Scientologist after meeting his wife Mimi in 1990. Ever since joining, he has remained in the forefront of the church.
Sources told The People, "Now he's lost the most precious thing in his life, he sees that his Scientology beliefs may not have hurt his box office but have ended not one but two marriages," the source added, "It was a terrifying and rude awakening for Tom when Katie served him with divorce papers. He's used to feeling undefeatable and untouchable. When he lost Katie he felt a failure," the source went on.
If he wins Holmes back, does anyone think he'll go back on Oprah and jump for joy on the same couch?
