Barclays Premier League 2015 Golden Boot Award - EPL Standings Leaders Chelsea FC's Diego Costa Favorite For Top Goal Scorer Honor?
The race for the Barclays Premier League's top-scorer spot is far from over, but current leader Diego Costa of EPL standings leaders Chelsea FC could be the favorite to win in 2015. His team is a game behind in 2015, meaning he has a bit more time to beat out top contenders Manchester City's Sergio Aguero, Tottenham's Harry Kane and QPR's Charlie Austin to name a few. We'll obviously have to wait until the end of the season to find out who actually wins the coveted Golden Boot award, but according to former footballer Alan Shearer of Newcastle and Blackburn fame, Costa is the man to watch.

"If I was really forced to choose one I'd have to go for Costa," Shearer said, according to PremierLeague.com. "I love his battling qualities as well as his ability to score goals and so I'd love to have him in my team."
The former top-scorer himself, Shearer opened up about this year's top players, revealing some good insight into what it takes to win the Golden Boot.
"Costa is ideally suited for the Barclays Premier League and to Chelsea and the way Jose Mourinho wants to play," Shearer said, pointed out by Chelsea's official website. "In an old-fashioned way, you can knock the ball up to him, he can head it, he can hold it up, he's strong. He still wants to run in behind, or even short, and he doesn't mind defenders marking him. In fact, he probably enjoys defenders marking him and getting tight to him.
He added: "He's very good at having a battle with the two centre-halves, but he's equally good at scoring goals. He can play the game but can scrap, which is not easy because you're getting battered week in, week out. When you've got 6ft 3in defenders trying to kick you all the time, it's not nice, but he can handle that."
