'Fashion Police' Kathy Griffin Slams Giuliana Rancic for Zendaya Coleman Comment After Kelly Osbourne's Exit
It is the comment that doesn't seem to die. Fashion Police star Giuliana Rancic made a comment in February regarding Zendaya Coleman's dreadlocks, and since then the remark has been making headlines all over the place. While the comment ultimately lead to Kelly Obsourne leaving the show, and a lot of heat in regards to Giuliana, it seems that now-host of the show Kathy Griffin is opening up about the incident on whether or not she thinks that comment was appropriate.
According to Radar Online, Griffin wasn't the hugest fan of the comment Rancic made regarding Coleman's dreadlocks looking like they smelt like patchouli or pot.
Griffin opened up to the Chicago Sun-Times in a new interview and explained that not only was she not a fan of the comment, but that she didn't think she would have said anything like it.
When the newspaper asked if the comment would have been blown out of proportion had she been the one to say it, Kathy replied, "Probably not," while adding, "but I wouldn't have said the joke in the first place."
The star also gave some advice to Giuliana following the comment, telling her to be herself on the show and not focus too much on the jokes.
"Don't have anyone write you jokes or even suggest jokes for you on Fashion Police," Kathy explained. "You have enough great insider gossip from actually being on the red carpet. That's what fans want to hear the next day. Just talk and be yourself."
Kathy also talked about her relationship and time with Kelly Osbourne, saying that "she seemed very upset at the merely seven tapings of Fashion Police we did together," but adding, "I can tell you this: I adore that family."
