'Downton Abbey' Season 6 PHOTOS: Kate Middleton Visits Hugh Bonneville For [Spoilers] On Set! [WATCH]

Before Season 6 of the award-winning drama, Downton Abbey commences on ITV, a surprise guest visited the set. Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge, the wife of Prince William, met with Hugh Bonneville (Robert Crawley) and the rest of the cast to get some spoilery info about the upcoming season.

According to Vanity Fair, Bonneville teased the upcoming season will make a time-jump. Picking up in 1925, sixth months since viewers last saw two characters crossing the Atlantic. Lady Rose Aldridge (Lily James) announced that her new husband had gotten a job offer in New York, and Tom Branson (Allen Leech) saying his goodbyes. The Monuments Men actor reveals, "Lady Rose has been on her honeymoon and she's now moved to America. Tom Branson has gone to Boston."

US Weekly reported that Prince William's pregnant wife would be visiting the set of the popular PBS period drama. A fan of the show, she would recieve a tour of the set, plus meet with cast and crew of the Emmy-winning series.

Before the due date to her second child in April, Middleton visited the kitchen, where she was presented with a chocolate cake, complete with a crown-topped Downton emblem printed on the frosting. People states Kate met with Mrs. Patmore (Lesley Nicol) and Daisy (Sophie McShera), who were very happy to see her.

McShera tells the site, "She spent the longest time in the kitchen, so me and Lesley are taking that as a compliment."

Bonneville also teased there would be an extra episode, the Christmas special. As we previously mentioned, the previous Christmas special followed Lord Grantham discovering what life at the abbey would be like had he never been born. In a laugh-out-loud turn of events, an angel presents him an alternate universe where everyone has drowned themselves in booze. The former Batman (George Clooney) and superstar agent Ari Gold (Jeremy Piven) were guest-stars on the episode.
