Pokemon Bank Offers Super Powered Meganium, Typhlosion and Feraligatr [VIDEOS]
You can get some quick Pokemon nostalgia today and all you need are two things. The first is just $5 a year for the Pokemon Bank; the next is to pick up Pokemon X, Y, Omega Ruby or Alpha Sapphire. Once you've met these conditions the veteran starters of Meganium, Typhlosion and Feraligatr featured in Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver will be made available to you.
In order to use these guys in battle you'll have to access the Pokemon Bank from your game between now and Nov. 30, 2015. Once you do you'll be able to supercharge your lineup against friends and randoms online. While these guys aren't as cool as Charizard they do come with some neat abilities that may make them a formidable force. (That's unless you're facing someone who's cheating and using PokeSav. Then you're utterly screwed.)
Meganium, the Leaf type starter who evolves from Chikorita, comes with Leaf Guard. Leaf Guard gives you the ability to protect yourself from status conditions during the Sunny Day move. Ironically, the Pokemon Bank Meganium comes with Sunny Day.
The Fire type Typhlosion, who evolves from Cyndaquil, comes with the move Flash Fire. Flash Fire powers up Fire moves by 50%. The best part about this Typhlosion already comes with three Fire moves. You can have a field day in battle and you aren't even cheating.
Feraligatr, the Water starter said to be the favorite in this generation amongst most Pokemon fans, comes with the Sheer Force ability. While this eliminates any extra added effects from moves, it powers up damage by 30%. What that means is the Ice Punch this Feraligatr comes with won't freeze your opponent. Crunch and Waterfall, the two other moves in this Feraligatr's arsenal, won't make your opponent flinch either. Sure these are all helpful effects in battle but when it comes to the instant death of your opponent's Pokemon this is a fair tradeoff.
