'Paula Deen's Recipe Quest' Game App Launching for iTunes, Google Play Users
Paula Deen calls herself a gamer because, according to her, she never leaves her house without an iPad. It's because of this Deen is set to expand her Southern empire and bring it to the world of gaming with a new app called Paula Deen's Recipe Quest. Recipe Quest launched on iTunes Saturday, March 14, and will debut in the Google Play Store March 16. Sometime between now and the 16th you should also be on the lookout for salon.com's article claiming Recipe Quest lacks diversity.
Playing up the game is, of course, Deen herself.
"Paula Deen's Recipe Quest is an incredible and one-of-a-kind game that will allow y'all to cook up a storm with me while solving exciting puzzles. Plus, it's free!" said Deen in a press release.
The game starts off during Deen's younger years as an amateur chef cooking from home. From there you'll work through 40 levels where the only way to advance yourself is by solving puzzles, collecting recipe cards and mixing and matching Deen's most popular recipes.
Recipe Quest will also have an online element. Players will be able to face off against their friends in cooking challenges while also having the ability to download new content every week.
The more exceptional players will even get the chance to cook alongside Deen on her Paula Deen network TV show. Other players can win discounts for Deen's General Store and subscriptions to the Deen network.
Deen hopes to reach the type of success with her game that Kim Kardashian did with Kim Kardashian's Hollywood. Hollywood brought in monstrous numbers in its first few months by raking in $200 million from 23 million downloads, and it has been played for 5.7 billion minutes.
