Girl Mistaken for Skunk Shot With Gun By Family at Halloween Party, 9 Year Old Hospitalized

A halloween party in Pennsylvania went terribly wrong after a 9-year-old girl mistaken for a skunk was shot by her relative. The little girl wore an all black outfit with a black hat that had a long white tassel at the Saturday evening party.

Police officer Gereg Carney said to WPTV that when the male relative thought he saw an animal, he took out his shotgun and shot the girl in the neck, back, shoulder and arm. The girl was airlifted to the local children's hospital and is currently being treated for a recovery.

The relative is currently not being charged but some town folks think that he should be charged. There were suspicions that he may have been drunk when he shot the little girl however the police have determined that alcohol was not the cause.

People worldwide reacted to the situation with unbelief and surprise.

"What kind of idiot would shoot a skunk anyway?," wrote a user by the name of deenibeeni.

"I truly believe that it is time to consider IQ testing and drug and alcohol testing for all GUN OWNERS.C,mon people this is utterly heartbreaking and ridiculous,a tale too often told with DEAD Children and wives in the croshairs," said ChicasFlyin.

"Why would this cracker shoot a skunk anyway? That is a sure way to stink of the place. Every self respecting skunk I've ever come across will scamper when you turn the light on…" another user named Brian reiterated.
