Is Hideo Kojima Leaving Konami? 'Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain' Video Game Studio Responds To Rumors
According to some Reddit rumors and then some reports, Hideo Kojima, the creator of the Metal Gear Solid video game series, could be leaving Konami. This speculation has gamers in a state of confusion concerning 2015's Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, but the gaming studio has responded to these rumors already, putting some concerns to rest ... for now, at least.

This rumors started when Kojima's named was apparently removed from some Metal Gear Solid artwork. NeoGAF also posted this evidence right here. In response to this speculation, Konami spoke with IGN in order to clear up any confusion.
"As we have already announced, we are shifting our production structure to a headquarters-controlled system, in order to establish a steadfast operating base capable of responding to the rapid market changes that surround our digital entertainment business," a representative said. "Konami Digital Entertainment (including Mr. Kojima), will continue to develop and support Metal Gear products. Please look forward to future announcements."
Meanwhile, an anonymous source spoke with GameSpot in regards to this news, explaining that there have been "power struggles" at the company.
"After we finish MGSV, Mr. Kojima and upper management will leave Konami," the insider said. "They said their contract ends in December. At a team meeting, Mr. Kojima explained that team have to be one and make a good game for fans."
