After CM Punk walked away from the WWE, he was quiet. It wasn't until his interview on the Art of Wrestling podcast in the fall did he finally start opening up -- and he opened up in a big way. A week after the podcast was released, he announced he would be fighting for the UFC. In a recent interview with Fox, Punk opened up some more. In it, he spoke about training for the UFC, the best and worst parts of wrestling and the possibility of a WWE return. He also wrote the Thor annual comic book and trains at the Roufusport MMA Academy and Gracie Academy with Rener Gracie.

Punk said one of the main reasons for signing with the UFC was due to his age: "I'm not getting any younger. I'm the kind of guy that jumps at an opportunity. I'm sure you're going to ask, and I understand all the criticism levied towards myself and UFC, but at the end of the day I'm the one getting in there, I'm the one putting my neck out on the line."

In order to prepare for his first fight, Punk has been training at the Roufusport Academy in Milwaukee. There he trains five days a week for two hours a day. On days where the training didn't completely kick his ass, he'd go back for another two-hour session.

When the conversation shifted toward his WWE career, Punk spoke highly on the challenge of having to compete on four different shows and all the superstars on them. Every week that fight to keep his head above water and stay relevant was all the motivation he needed to keep him stimulated.

The biggest problem he had, though, was not being able to take some time off: "After a while, I would say the worst part of it was their not listening and not understanding, and not getting a break when I probably needed one."

When asked about the possibility of a WWE return, Punk simply answered, "Zero."

It probably didn't help he was officially fired on his wedding day.

Now if you can't wait until Punk's first UFC fight to get your CM Punk fix, you could always pick up the latest Thor annual he wrote. Punk teamed up with artist Rob Guillory to create a piece of art that looks to be the first comic to be written by a professional wrestler/MMA fighter.
