'RHOC' Vicki Gunvalson's Boyfriend - Brooks Ayers - Cancer Treatment Not Working

Real Housewives of Orange County stars Vicki Gunvalson and boyfriend Brooks Ayers have been going through a difficult time over the last couple of months, as Ayers is battling cancer. The RHOC star revealed at the end of last year that he has been fighting Stage 3 Non-Hodgkin lymphoma since 2013. It looked like he was making a lot of progress in his treatment over the last few months, but it was revealed today that the chemotherapy treatments don't seem to be working.

According to Radar Online, despite the fact that the prognosis isn't very promising, Brooks still maintains a positive outlook on the cancer.

"I am sick," the star revealed. "I do feel bad, but it's mind over matter a lot of times. You gotta stay the course."

Yet, the course hasn't been an easy one for Brooks, as he told the site that despite being on chemotherapy and a liquid-based diet for the last six months that it doesn't look like his outcome has improved much.

"When the test results came back, the numbers haven't changed substantially," the star revealed. "They haven't gotten worse, but they haven't gotten better. That was kind of disheartening, to be honest with you. I'm not so sure my body is responding to chemotherapy."

Despite Vicki's recent heartache over losing her mother, according to The Inquistr, it seems that she has been in Brooks corner as he continues to fight this disease.

"She keeps me up and going and it's been good rather than just routine, monotonous life- that's not what we're about," Ayers told the site. "So it's been very good from that perspective."
