Britney Spears Shaved Head Fearing Drug Test? Ex Manager Sam Lutfi Claims at Lawsuit Trial
Proclaimed manager of pop sensation Britney Spears Sam Lutfi, stepped in the stand for the first time on Tuesday in a defamation lawsuit against her parents and came out with a series of stories that happened during his close association with her ranging from how he met the music diva to her relapse on drugs.
Lutfi claimed that he provided moral support to Spears, when she was going through a rough patch in her life and protected her from paparazzi and others.
Lutfi testified before a court that Spears relapsed on drugs in 2007 and spent all night in a car. He also alleged that she also shaved her head fearing that she may be subjected to hair test to figure out the history of drug abuse.
"Britney was involved in a wicked child custody battle. She told me someone told her they could scientifically test her hair for history of drug use, so she shaved it all off," he told to jurors, according to the Daily News.
Lutfi said that he met Spears in a night club and their introduction slowly turned in to friendship, when she started calling and texting him. Later, he started to act as an unofficial manager for her.
"I also started setting up meetings at her home with press photographers so they could get to know her as a human being," he said according to a report in ABC News. He said that Spears suggested him to become her manager and get paid 15 percent from her monthly income of $800,000.
Lutfi said he accepted the job with conditions, insisting that Britney, who had fired her entire staff, allow him to put together a new "varsity team" consisting of a lawyer, agent and business manager, the agency reported.
He claimed that he took drug-sniffing dogs to Spears's home and found a baggie full of a white powder, which he said that he flushed down the toilet.
Lutfi is pursuing a defamation case and breach-of-contract against her and her parents. He has charged Spears' farther for physically assaulting him and her mother Lynne Spears for describing him as "Svengali" and "predator' in her book "Through the Storm."
In a book based on her daughter's life, Lynne Spears has supposedly accused Lutfi of turning Spears into a drug addict during their about seven-month friendship.
