Jessica Simpson Parents Divorce: Joe and Tina Simpson Officially File for Divorce Papers after 34 Years Together, is Dad Gay?

It's official - after 34 years of marriage, Jessica Simpson's parents Joe and Tina are finally headed for divorce. According to reports, Tina filed for divorce papers in Texas on September 24, 2012. Although the couple claims "the marriage has become insupportable because of discord or conflict of personalities," rumors have started to surface that Joe Simpson may actually be gay.

A representative for the Simpson clan told People magazine, "It is an amicable split and there is no third party involved," says the rep. "Any other related allegations are completely false. The family appreciates your respect for their privacy at this time."

The couple have two children together - pop star Jessica (32) and 28-year-old singer/songwriter Ashlee.

In the divorce documents procured by TMZ, Tina insists she owns property outside of the marriage and wishes to keep it. Joe filed a response claim days later, claiming Tina will receive nothing from the split.

According to TMZ, there are specific rules about how divorcing spouses have to behave toward each other during proceedings in the county where Tina filed the separation papers - the estranged duo can't curse at each other, harass each other over the phone, or physically attack each other.

Although Tina insists the divorce arises from a "conflict of personalities," according to many reports, Joe may actually be a homosexual. An inside source explained to Perez Hilton, "Joe got the family together about two months ago and came out of the closet. He told them that he'd tried to continue in his marriage to Tina, but he couldn't go on any longer and deny the fact that he had these feelings for men. Joe said it wasn't fair to her, and it wasn't fair to him." Not only that, but when Joe was arrested for a DUI back in August, there was allegedly another person with him in the car at the time - reports initially confirmed it was Tina, but now rumors have it that Joe's companion was actually another man.
