'Person Of Interest' Season 4 Recap: 'Skip': Will Jim Caviezel, Katheryn Winnick Save Finch From Death?

Season 4 of Person of Interest returns from its short break with an all-new action-packed episode on CBS. With Shaw (Sarah Shahi)'s whereabouts still unknown, will Finch (Michael Emerson) be another victim as  Reese (Jim Caviezel) works with a bounty hunter, Frankie Wells (guest star Katheryn Winnick) in 'Skip?'

At an underground casino, Reese is winning at a table. Frankie Wells is the latest POI and she is a hostess. She ends up beating up her boss in the back and starts a fight with Reese. Frankie manages to get away and steal his detective's badge.

Root (Amy Acker) visits Finch, who is going on a date with Elizabeth Bridges. Her algorithm is finally going live and getting into the system. He wants to have dinner with her to celebrate. At the precinct, Iris  (Wrenn Schmidt) has to end her sessions with Reese and refer him to another therapist. 

Fusco (Kevin Chapman) has to track down Frankie and get Reese's badge back. Finch realizes Elizabeth is also in trouble. Reese arrests the bounty hunter and realizes her perp, Ray, is on the run. She runs out the bar chasing after him and gets picked by Harper. 

Reese takes Frankie to the precinct, and already Fusco likes her. She needs to bring back her perp to stand trial, or she owes a million to the courts. Finch visits Root and asks her help, but she thinks he's holding out on her. Reese meets Iris again but he doesn't want to talk to her. 

While Frankie and Reese chase after harper, Finch and Root team-up to track Elizabeth. Finch is worried Root will get caught under Greer's radar. Root realizes he likes her and watches Elizabeth being threatened by an ex. Frankie and Reese corner Harper, but get no info from her. Finch finds his professor's office has been broken into.

After Frankie undresses in the backseat, they trace into Harper's cell and follow her. Harper 's car is crashed into and gunned into. After realizing Harper wasn't even in the car, Reese is taken down and Frankie is taken hostage. 

Reese wakes up handcuffed to Frankie. The mob boss, Worthy, is chasing after Ray too because he wants his money. Finch's Trojan Horse will lay eggs into Samaritan and possibly cripple it.

Frankie and Reese fight the guards while handcuffed. Frankie then kisses Reese, cuffs him to the freezer, and leaves. Finch realizes the threat to Elizabeth's life is Root; she has to kill her.  

Fusco and Reese think they have Frankie's lead. Harper finds herself in Ray's hideout with his fake passport. If Finch activates his Trojan Horse, Samaritan will spot him. Root realizes Elizabeth will get Finch killed, which is why she has to die. Frankie arrives and knocks out Ray. 

Finch begs Root not to kill Elizabeth; his program could be a weapon. Finch is too important to Root and lose him after Shaw. Finch drinks the poison instead. Staging shootout, Frankie wants to revenge for her brother's murder caused by Ray. During Frankie and Reese's scuffle, Harper ends up with a gun to her head by Ray.

During the shootout, Harper makes a deal to save herself and Reese stops Frankie from killing Ray. Reese shoots him in the leg before he can kill Harper. 

With the poison in him, Finch is carried out to the elevator by Root, preventing Elizabeth's death. Reese discovers Harper has been receiving numbers by the Machine. Thanks to Root, Elizabeth is discredited and she breaks up with Finch. 

After Frankie says goodbye, Iris meets with Reese, tells him she has feelings for him, and they kiss. Root has also destroyed the activation device; Finch being alive is enough. Finch doesn't want to see Root for awhile. Finch's plan was good but he would've died.
